Patric Millar BSc ME Dip Man Dip SIS CEnvP
Patric Millar is the Director of Ecosite Solutions Pty Ltd. He graduated from the University of New South Wales with a BSc in Geography and Botany, he holds a Master of Engineering (Environmental) from the University of New England, a Diploma of Management (Frontline) from University of New England Partnerships, a Diploma of Spatial Information Systems from TAFE NSW, he is a Certified Environmental Practitioner with the EIANZ and is a Provisional RABSQA Auditor for ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems. He is a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.
Patric has over 20 year’s experience in environmental management. He has a range of skills in environmental management, erosion and sediment control, GIS mapping, GPS tracking, community engagement, preparation of funding proposals, vegetation surveying, preparation of environmental reports dealing with all levels of government and project management.
He has extensive public sector experience including the preparation of high level policy documents and natural resource management plans. Patric worked in the NSW public sector from 1990 to July 2009. In that time he gained an intimate knowledge and vast expertise in the mechanics of government. Patric understands how Government Departments interpret, enact and enforce legislation, regulations and policies. Whilst working for the NSW State Government Patric represented the Minister at a number of Planning Focus Meeting for major projects. He has prepared the Minister’s requirements for matters to be dealt with in Environmental Impact Statements.
Patric is an erosion and sediment control specialist and was trained in all facets of soil conservation by the Soil Conservation Service of New South Wales. Patric specialises in preparation of erosion and sediment control plans, costing of works and can provide on – site supervision of earthworks contractors. Patric is a member of the International Erosion and Sediment Control Association.
He is a Provisional Environmental Auditor with RABQSA. Patric can provide advice about the preparation, implementation and auditing of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems.
As a long term resident of the Border Rivers community Patric has undertaken numerous community consultation activities for a range of Government agencies. This includes community consultation for Water Sharing Plans, Regional Vegetation Management Plans, Catchment Blueprints, Floodplain Harvesting, derelict mine remediation, contaminated sites, property and catchment planning and environmental education activities.
Patric has managed many large environmental projects from cradle to grave. These projects have included derelict mine site remediation, gravel pit design, tree planting for Landcare Groups, Whole Farm Planning, rural urban sub division planning, on site effluent disposal projects, GIS mapping, roadside erosion and sediment control projects, preparation of Plans of Management for Crown Reserves and GPS collars for animal tracking.
